Female Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practitioner and acupuncturist specialising in natural hormone health and menstrual cycle support

Holistic Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine for targeted menstrual cycle support.

Sick of being told that your symptoms are normal when you know deep down they are not?
Well, I am here to change that narrative.

As an AHPRA registered Acupuncturist & Chinese Medicine practitioner, I combine grounded ancient wisdom with a deep understanding of the menstrual cycle to give you a lifelong framework of health by helping you navigate each phase of your cycle, from your first bleed to menopause, and everything in between.

Forget trends, my approach is rooted in evidence-based research, clinical results, tailored individualised treatment plans and the use of a medicine that has survived thousands of years, helping you reach your menstrual health goals.

  • The most ‘common’ symptom that they have convinced us is normal. Our lives should have zero pain, including when you are bleeding or ovulating. Most the time this pain is unexplained and we have been told to take painkillers, go on contraception, or ‘have a baby’. Wild.

Chinese Medicine has been treating pain for thousands of years. These tiny pins and Chinese herbs have got you when it comes to your monthly bleed.

  • I am sorry chick that you are reading this. Endo is one of the most common menstrual health condition, with the smallest amount of research. 1 in 7 women in Australia suffer from endo and they don’t even have a name for the cells, they just say ‘endometrial-like cells’. Ridiculous.

Endometriosis is a whole body condition that causes a wide range of signs and symptoms. Chinese Medicine has always and will always be a whole body holistic medicine, so no part of your suffering will go unnoticed.

  • Endometriosis’s crappy cousin, adenomyosis is even less known that endo. Pain, heaviness, possible fertility issues, adeno is absolutely no fun.

Focussing on pain relief, acupuncture and Chinese herbs have been used for thousands for years and may bring relief to those who suffer each month.

  • Moody.
    Tender boobs.
    Headaches.
    Migraines.
    Crying at everything.
    Fatigue.
    Bloating.
    Constipation.
    Brain fog.
    Food cravings.
    The. List. Goes. On.

Ideally, your period should just arrive. If it isn’t, that isn’t normal. Chinese Medicine has been used for thousands of years to help with all different signs and symptoms before a period arrives.

  • Oh boy. This is the most horrible experience. PMS on steroids. And usually very closely related to ADHD.

However, you don’t need ADHD to have PMDD. What you do need is support either way.

PMDD is something I am seeing more and more in clinic which is making me dive deeper into textbooks and research on how best to help.

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome. A metabolic syndrome which affects 10-15% of women.

Insulin resistance, increased number of follicles on the ovaries, elongated cycles, and the increased amount of androgens in the system are the some of the main issues women with PCOS deal with. Plus not mention all the other signs and symptoms, hair loss, facial hair growth, weight gain, acne.

Chinese Medicine, being a whole body medicine, focusses on all symptoms that appear, as they can be different for each person.

  • A lot more follicles (sometimes called cysts) on your ovaries causing your cycles to be more than 31days, but no other signs of PCOS?

Polycystic ovaries isn’t the same as the metabolic condition PCOS. Treatment according to Chinese Medicine is still based on your signs and symptoms however.

  • A lot can go on in and around the uterus that can cause pain, heavy bleeding, fertility issues, bloating, and much more.

Found on an ultrasound, alongside medical intervention (if needed) Chinese Medicine is an amazing medicine that can compliment modern medicine that may help with signs and symptoms of fibroids, cysts and polyps.

  • The average amount of blood that is meant to be passed when on your period is around 80mls. That’s the equivalence of changing a pad or tampon 3-4 times a day.

Heavy periods are not only annoying, they can affect your iron levels, causing iron deficiency. Heavy periods can interrupt your days and cause anxiety due to leakage.

Chinese Medicine is all about a balanced flow, but too much of any flow isn’t good.

  • No sign of PCOS or PCO?
Maybe your cycles are being affected by stress, exercise, or diet.

    That’s common.

Good thing Chinese medicine sees the body as a whole so every system is considered.

  • Whether you have never had a period, or you had periods and now they are missing, Chinese Medicine is an amazing tool to work alongside with modern medicine on your missing periods.

Chinese Medicine dives to the root of the issue when it comes to amenorrhoea.

  • Trending now, but for all the right reasons.
More research, information, and support is needed for women who are approaching menopause to help them feel their best through this phase of their life.

Perimenopause is this transition time around menopause where lots of symptoms start to show. It is during this time that your ovaries stop releasing eggs and the levels of your hormones oestrogen and progesterone drop. Your cycles will start to become a little more irregular as this natural process occurs.

The best thing about acupuncture is that is isn’t an either/or option. I work with people who are on HRT (hormonal replacement therapy), who are thinking about going on it, or who want to try hold it off for as long as they can (or before divorce is on the books). I can work along with where ever you are in your journey of transition.

Another great aspect of acupuncture is that it can help with your stress. It lowers cortisol (the stress hormone) so if you are struggling with day to day life, this can help manage how you react to the stress, hopefully allowing you to be more calm and stable in your actions.

  • Menopause is knows as the ‘Second Spring’.
It is a transition into becoming a wiser self.

From when start our menstrual cycle, Blood energy goes down into our Uterus to help create periods and life.
Now that we don’t have our periods any longer, nor are we fertile, all that Blood energy can move into the Heart instead.

The Heart in Chinese Medicine houses our Shen, our spirit, and with our Heart full we can now step into the Wisdom of ourselves at this older age.

Life is not done - it isn’t over. In fact, it is more beautiful for we can start looking after ourselves now after years of catering to everyone else.

  • If you are reading this, you are probably in the midst of a Google search about what else you can do to help increase you fertility and your chances of starting a family.

1 in 6 couples in Australia now suffer from infertility. The infertility can be explained with 1 third of them are due to female and egg producer issues, 1 third due to male and sperm producer issues, 1 third due to both of them.

Female and egg producer issues can include ovulatory disorders like PCO (polycystic ovaries), PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), POI (premature ovarian insufficiency), endometriosis, fallopian tube damage, uterine fibroids, and autoimmune disorders like Hashimoto’s

So how does Chinese Medicine help?

Firstly, and the most important point, I really believe in building a team around you that is going to support you, be a sounding board, allow you to ask questions, and the most powerful, give you the opportunity to learn how to advocate for yourself, your health, and your fertility journey.

Secondly, it is pretty well known that stress can wreak havoc on your body, which in turn can affect the fertility of both male/sperm producers and female/egg producers. Acupuncture can help in lowering stress, which is always a great start. When stress is lowered, the body can work on being in balance and produces the hormones needed to help increase fertility.

And thirdly, acupuncture can work along side whatever else YOU have chosen to do to achieve your family.
Did you know that many private IVF clinics now have acupuncturists working for them as acupuncture may support IVF. Not only for the pre-conception stage, but also during the cycle, during egg collection, pre-transfer and post-transfer, as well as during the 2 week wait.

  • Preparing for birth is about more than just a due date; it’s about preparing your body and mind for the transition into motherhood. Whether you are aiming for a spontaneous labour or looking to support your body through a scheduled medical induction, acupuncture offers a grounded, supportive framework. I work to a clinical timeline designed to encourage cervical ripening, optimal foetal positioning, and a calm nervous system.

    Your Treatment Timeline:

    • From 35 Weeks: We begin weekly treatments to gently prepare the pelvis and soften the cervix.

    • At 39 Weeks: We ramp up our focus with twice-weekly appointments to encourage the natural onset of labour.

    • 40 Weeks & Beyond: If you are nearing a medical induction date and would prefer a spontaneous start, we move to treatments every second day. This intensive support is designed to give your body the best possible chance to find its own rhythm.

    • Already 40 or 41 Weeks? It’s never too late. If you’ve just found me and you’re feeling the pressure of a looming deadline, we can jump straight into a high-frequency plan to support your body's transition into labour.

Registered Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practitioner and acupuncturist providing natural, evidence-informed support for women's menstrual health and hormonal balance

Your cycle isn’t something you need to ‘just put up with’.

I started focusing on Women’s health as my years in practice made me realise that so many women are dismissed, gaslit, and given information that is not up-to-date, which causes a lot of confusion and over time, a disconnection from our own bodies. Seeing the frustration of so many over these years has sparked a fire to want to stand up for women and their health concerns.

My approach is built on actually listening, combined with a firm yet playful accountability. I’m here to educate you about the inner workings of your cycle, providing you with the tools to get back into the driver’s seat of your own health.

Your life shouldn't be dictated by your menstrual cycle. Together, we’ll move beyond just "putting up with it" and create a grounded, lifelong framework for your wellbeing
