2025 Year of the Snake

The Lunar New Year for 2025 has begun, so for this blog, et’s have some fun instead and go over the predictions of the Year of the Snake for 2025!

First off - if you don’t know your zodiac animal you can find out here as the Lunar New Year doesn’t start on the same day each year, so those born in January and February may be different year to year.

Secondly - these are not my predictions. I don’t know how to read into Chinese zodiac, yet. So until I do, these are from Dr Holman who runs a practice in the USA and teaches at the Oregon College of Chinese Medicine. He did a little seminar and I thought I would pass on my interpretations of his predictions!

Let’s jump in!
The Lunar New Year begins on January the 29th.
It is the year of the Yin Wood Snake.
Each year comprises of one of the 12 animal zodiac signs, one of the five elements, and either Yin or Yang energy - I’ll break them down.

Snake
In the Year of the Snake creativity abounds and our consciousness awakens. We have the opportunity to expand or intellect and shed our proverbial skin. The snake is Yin in nature, basking in the sun with little movement, yet has an element of Yang as it can strike fast when needed. The snake is tenacious, encouraging you to seek out what you want from the year and since the snake is patient, a well thought out plan is recommended to help you get what you want.

The snake possesses mystical qualities and wisdom which you can draw on to help you hone in on your deep intuitive skills.
Snakes can be too fiery which might make you feel like you are wanting more, but they can also be listless, so while you must not get caught up in too much exciting, you should try to stay focussed on what you really need.

Wood

Wood represents action. It creates Fire so it is a robust year for achieving creative projects. Staying flexible with goals when they don’t go as planned makes for a healthy Wood energy. Be careful how you interact with people in general this year as the Wood energy can bring more anger and frustration.

Greet each day with an open heart.

Yin
Quiet, rest, contemplation, reserve - all strong Yin qualities that will help balance out the fiery snake and Wood energy this year.

Rooster

You can even practice this under a full moon and send love to your family.

Dog

Last year presented many challenges. You might feel like licking your wounds, but 2025 is a time to let go of the past and create a brilliant next chapter. The skills you acquired in the dragon year will continue to develop and serve you in navigating the many changes afoot. This year, excitement abounds. Stay mindful of getting caught up in the adrenaline frenzy. Good luck is coming in 2026!

Pig

Reflection and relaxation are your themes in the snake year. You might encounter some challenges. Develop your virtue and visualize your engagement with heaven and earth. This year asks us to awaken our consciousness, which can bring up old hurts. Call on your courageous nature to stay present and gentle. Wear black to tune into your spirit and green to activate your power.

Your 2025

Did any of that ring true for you? Maybe? Or is it too broad? Probably - it’s for a little fun. You can also seek out a Chinese horoscope master to give you a bigger reading, as the animal of the year you are born in isn’t that important. Rather the animals of the day and month you are born can give you a deeper insight. Plus there is a whole other part about the elements that are in and are missing from your chart. It is super interesting!
